Huawei advances in robotics with “MATEROBOT” trademark application
Huawei has maintained its position among the top five global companies that made the highest R&D investments in 2022.

According to the Trademark Office of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, Huawei submitted a trademark application for “MATEROBOT” last month, and it is currently awaiting substantive examination. The trademark covers a broad range of products, including telepresence robots, chatbot software, user-programmable humanoid robots, smartphones, and AI-powered humanoid robots with communication and learning capabilities. It also includes robots for security monitoring, education, scientific research, and household tasks, according to the application. In early March, Huawei, in partnership with China Mobile and Leju Robotics, unveiled the Kuafu humanoid robot at Mobile World Congress 2025. The robot features 5G-A technology, enabling high-precision positioning in large environments and allowing users to remotely control the robot in real time. [IThome, in Chinese]
