Police in Aurora, Colorado, have detained 14 individuals suspected of orchestrating a violent armed home invasion at The Edge at Lowry Apartments.
The incident, which unfolded just before 2:30 a.m., involved a group of men and women who allegedly broke into an apartment, kidnapped its two residents, and subjected them to a harrowing ordeal.
The victims were moved to another apartment within the same complex where they were “threatened and bound.” One of the victims suffered a stab wound, though fortunately, it was not life-threatening.
The Aurora Police Department quickly responded, leading to the detention of those involved, with Chief Todd Chamberlain describing the crime as “without question a gang incident.”
“They were pistol-whipped, they were beat, they were mistreated,” Chamberlan said. “So does that fall in the category of torture for me? Yeah, it does.”

Chamberlain said that the violent home invasion was “without question a gang incident.”
And while the Aurora Police Chief wouldn’t specifically link it to a particular gang, he noted, “there is a high assumption that they may be affiliated with the TdA [Tren de Aragua] gang.”
The Miami Herald has previously described Tren de Aragua as a “bloodthirsty” gang with “many” members known for their “wanton use of violence.”
The gang operates as an “umbrella organization for smaller gangs specialized in all types of crimes, from kidnapping, extortion and drug trafficking to prostitution, robbery and murders for hire,” the Herald reports.
Chamberlain torched the White House during the press conference over the latest arrests.
“I had a discussion with an individual from the White House,” he said. “That person basically told me ‘Hey, once these immigrants get across the border, that’s all we really care about.’”
To me, that’s a problem,” added Chamberlain. “That’s a huge problem.”
