ALMA Detects Molecular Activity in Largest Known Oort Cloud Comet


Astronomers using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) have observed comet C/2014 UN271 (Bernardinelli-Bernstein) while it was more than halfway to Neptune, at an astonishing distance of 16.6 times the distance between the Sun and Earth.
