Ajay Banga meets PM Modi, says World Bank can't interfere in Indus Water Treaty issue
World Bank President Ajay Banga told India that the agency can't interfere in the Indus Water Treaty, which India has paused amidst tensions with Pakistan. Banga clarified the World Bank's role is limited to facilitating dispute resolution through neutral experts or arbitrators, as per the treaty's provisions. He met with PM Modi and Finance Minister Sitharaman to discuss the matter.
